Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans

Predictable costs alongside Original Medicare

Explore the Medicare Supplement plans available through All Solution Plus. Medigap benefits are standardised by law, so the differences that matter are price, carrier service, and how rates rise over time.

Standardised benefits, very different prices

Medicare Supplement, or Medigap, sits alongside Original Medicare and picks up costs Parts A and B leave behind — coinsurance, copays and deductibles. Because the federal government standardises the benefits, a Plan G from one carrier covers exactly what a Plan G from another covers.

What differs is the premium, how sharply that premium rises with age, and how the carrier behaves when you claim. Two identical plans can differ by hundreds of dollars a year, which is precisely where an independent agent earns their keep.

Common Medigap plan letters

Plans are labelled by letter and standardised nationally, except in Massachusetts, Minnesota and Wisconsin, which use their own systems.

Plan G

Plan G

The most widely bought plan for new enrollees. Covers everything Plan F does except the Part B deductible, which you pay yourself once a year.

Plan N

Plan N

Lower premium than G in exchange for small copays at some visits and possible excess charges from providers who do not accept assignment.

HD Plan G

High-deductible G

Much lower premium, but you cover costs up to an annual deductible first. Suits people who rarely claim and want protection against a very bad year.

Plan A

Plan A

The baseline benefit package every carrier offering Medigap must sell. Limited compared with G or N.

Plan K & L

Plans K and L

Share costs with you at fixed percentages and cap what you pay out of pocket each year.

Plan F

Plan F

Only available if you became eligible for Medicare before 1 January 2020. Closed to newer enrollees.

Common questions

Your Medigap Open Enrollment Period lasts six months from when you are 65 or older and enrolled in Part B. During that window carriers cannot refuse you or charge more for health reasons. Outside it, most states allow medical underwriting.

No. Medigap sold today does not include drug cover. You would add a standalone Part D plan separately.

No. Medigap works with Original Medicare only. If you are on an Advantage plan you cannot use a Medigap policy alongside it.

Carriers price using different methods — community rated, issue-age rated, or attained-age rated — which changes how your premium behaves as you get older. The cheapest plan today is not always cheapest over ten years.

No. Medigap premiums are filed with your state insurance department. You pay the same whether you buy direct or through us.

Want help comparing Medigap prices?

Benefits are identical by law, so this comes down to price and carrier behaviour. A licensed agent can compare what is available at your age and ZIP code, and explain how each carrier raises rates over time.
