How can All Solution Plus help secure your family’s future?

Most people arrive with the same five questions. None of them have a single right answer — they depend on your income, your debts, and how many years your family would need support.

  • How much life insurance do I actually need?
  • Is whole life or term life better for my situation?
  • Am I paying too much for the cover I have?
  • Do I have more cover than I need?
  • How do I make sure my family actually receives the payout?

Understanding life insurance

The main types, explained plainly

The first decision is temporary versus permanent cover. Everything else follows from that one choice.

Term life

Cover for a fixed period, commonly ten to thirty years. The cheapest way to buy a large death benefit, which is why it suits most households with a mortgage and children at home. If you outlive the term it simply ends, with no value returned.

Whole life

The most common permanent cover. Premiums stay level, the death benefit is guaranteed, and cash value builds at a set rate so it is predictable. Considerably more expensive than term for the same benefit amount.

Universal life

Permanent cover with flexible premiums and an adjustable death benefit. The flexibility is genuine, but an underfunded policy can lapse years later — these need reviewing periodically rather than filing away.

Indexed universal life

Cash value growth linked to an index, subject to caps and floors. Complex, and the illustrations deserve close scrutiny. Worth understanding exactly what is guaranteed and what is merely projected.

Final expense

Small whole life policies designed to cover a funeral, burial and any last bills, so the cost does not fall to family. Simplified underwriting and usually no medical exam.

No medical exam

Accelerated underwriting uses data rather than a paramedical visit, so healthy applicants can often be approved quickly at moderate face amounts. Guaranteed issue skips health questions entirely, at higher cost and with a waiting period.

Beyond the core policy types, these are the arrangements clients most often ask us about.

Final expense planning

Cover sized to funeral, burial and outstanding bills so the cost never lands on your family at the worst possible moment.

Guaranteed issue cover

No health questions and no exam. Smaller benefit amounts and a waiting period apply, but nobody is declined.

Living benefit riders

Riders that let you access part of the death benefit early if you are diagnosed with a qualifying critical, chronic or terminal illness.

Group and corporate life

Employer-paid or voluntary group term cover, usually issued with simplified underwriting so employees skip individual medical questions.

How much cover do you actually need?

A common starting point is ten to twelve times annual income, then adjusted for what you owe, what the mortgage is, and how many years children remain dependent. It is a calculation rather than a guess, and it usually lands lower than people fear.

The mistake we see most often is buying a complicated permanent policy when straightforward term cover would have done the job for a fraction of the premium. If that is your situation, we will say so.

Common questions

A common starting point is ten to twelve times annual income, adjusted for debts, the mortgage and how long children remain dependent. An agent can run the calculation with you in a few minutes rather than leaving you to guess.

If the need has an end date — while children grow up or a mortgage is paid down — term is usually the right answer and costs far less. Permanent makes sense for lifelong needs such as estate liquidity, a dependant with special needs, or final expenses.

Not always. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting for healthy applicants at moderate face amounts, using data instead of a paramedical visit. Simplified and guaranteed issue products skip the exam entirely but cost more.

It usually affects price rather than eligibility. Carriers underwrite the same condition very differently, which is exactly where an independent agent helps — the same applicant can receive noticeably different offers.

Many term policies include a conversion option allowing you to switch to permanent cover without new underwriting, within a stated window. If that flexibility matters to you, confirm it before you buy rather than after.

Name your beneficiaries clearly, keep them updated after any major life change, and tell someone the policy exists and which carrier holds it. Unclaimed policies are more common than they should be.
